Continuation of the “Organic Wreaths” series, this work was influenced by the marine and coastline ecosystems in the UK, a wide diversity of habitats and species, many of which are particularly rare.
The aim was to create the textures and forms that, although inspired by the natural world, are not necessarily anything that has been seen before. They could be substances, organisms or creatures that have not yet been discovered or that cannot be visible to the naked eye. Creating them brought a sense of wonder that the artist wants to convey. Something felt when one truly connects with nature or sees something beautiful for the first time.
