Charity and art: joining efforts to protect endangered species - PART TWO
In Part One of this article, I wrote about my collaboration with the charity, PTES, whereby all my profits from the Open Studios show would be donated to the conservation of the endangered species in the UK. I am pleased to announce that the sales of my work during the show mean that over £1,000 will be donated to the cause.
The collaboration of art with charity was very well received. On top of the money raised, a lot of people took interest in hearing about PTES’s work. There is an obvious link between the appreciation of art and that of the fragile natural life around us and I would love to see other artists and makers to undertake a similar effort for charity in the future.
I want to thank everyone, including PTES, Wimbledon Art Studios staff, customers, visitors, friends and family who have supported me and contributed to this result.
